Shape Of You vs. Castle On The Hill: Which Ed Sheeran single is the most loved?

No one releases new music in January - unless you're of course, who has brightened these dark, post-Christmas days with two huge new singles, Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill.

We're not totally sure we can pick a favourite between the pounding beats of Castle and the tropical house vibes of Shape, but he's currently on track to take No.1 and No.2 in this week's chart and only one can take the top.

Ed's biggest Spotify hit, Thinking Out Loud, has been streamed more than 780 million times.

His new tunes have a long way to go to hit this number, but already, Shape Of You is smashing it.

In just three days, Shape has been streamed more than 16 million times, although the 13 million streams of Castle On The Hill aren’t to be sniffed at either.

Winner: Shape Of You

Ed dropped lyrics videos for both his new tunes on Friday 6 January and Shape Of You has already nudged into the lead online.

Shape Of You was watched 17.1 million times in just three days, while Castle On The Hill was watched 16.4 million times.

But, add in the 3.5 million views of his acoustic performance of Castle on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, and we've got a winner.

iTunes

Rockabye is such a huge tune, it has taken two songs from one of the UK's biggest stars to shake its run at the top.

Already, Ed has claimed the top two spots on the iTunes chart, with Shape edging its way to No.1, while Castle sits at No.2.

We'll wait until Greg James reveals the Official Chart on Friday, but we've got a feeling we know where this one is going...

Winner: Shape Of You

Plus, is freaking out about Shape Of You. And it she doesn't lose her cool over any old pop tune.

Although James from is backing Castle On The Hill.

And the reaction to the songs hasn't gone unnoticed by Ed.
