DIRT and CLEANLINESS
Laurie Taylor discovers that the dichotomy between dirt and cleanliness may not be as clear cut as we like to think when he talks to DrÌýTim Dant about his ground-breaking analysis of dirt in garages and to Dr Elizabeth Shove who has studied shifts in standards and understandings of domestic hygiene.
JUVENILE OFFENDING and LONG-TERM CRIMINALS
A new study brings up to date the stories of fifty men first encountered as boys in an American reform school in the 1950s. Laurie Taylor meets Professor John Laub to find out what the boys subsequent biographies have to tell us about a widely accepted linkage between juvenile offending and long-term criminal careers.
