Manic Street Preachers - Further Away

Despite a self-imposed moratorium on love songs, Further Away was Manic Street Preachers' first foray into the genre.

It was released on the 1996 album Everything Must Go but was never released in the UK as a single. It was, however, released in Japan replacing the track Kevin Carter.

Although it showed the Manics' rockier side in its tone, its lyrics were simple and heartfelt: "The further away I get from you / The harder it gets for everyone else, for everyone else / The happier I am when I'm with you / The harder it gets when I am alone, when I am alone".
