Kicking off with the words "Love your hair / It makes me smile a stupid smile" this single from 1996 showed the Newport indie band at their most sensitive.

It was the lead track on the band's Hair EP which was released on the Indolent label, run by Steve Lamacq.

Hair also appeared on their debut album The Big 3, which was released in the same year after they'd built a very solid live reputation and released a number of singles.
