Anthony Johnson

Fact title Fact data
Position
Joint Manager

Anthony ‘Jonno’ Johnson splits his managerial duties at Salford FC with a full time wagon driving job.

He lives in Bury with his wife and three children. A former solider, Anthony spent four years in the army, where he travelled from Aldershot to Bury each weekend to play football. On leaving the army, he went on to play semi-professional football for Salford City FC and developed an affinity with the club, the committee and the people.

When Salford and the Class of '92 approached Ramsbottom United in 2014, where Anthony was joint manager alongside Bernard Morley, he claims the opportunity was a ‘no brainer’. The project has given him and Bernard a foot on the football management ladder where he believes they have the desire to succeed.

His favourite moment in the Class of '92 journey thus far was putting Nicky Butt on his backside in a training match as he ghosted past him like George Best (apparently).
