What's under the Â鶹Éç Red Button?

The Commonwealth Games on the Â鶹Éç Red Button

Â鶹Éç Red Button launched more than 10 years ago and is currently used by 12 million people a week. Pressing the red button on any Â鶹Éç digital TV channel (available on Freeview, Freesat, Sky or Virgin Media) gives free access to a whole host of extra entertainment and information.

As well as the latest news, sport and weather, there's lots of other fresh content ranging from digital text services such as travel information or lottery results, to great extras and enhancements to favourite Â鶹Éç shows. There may be exclusive music sessions, play-along quizzes or chances to select different live events – some with alternative audio commentaries, or access to behind-the-scenes video.

This dedicated section in Programme Information will keep viewers up to date with the latest red button content from the Â鶹Éç.

This week's information covers the period from 25 September to 15 October.

Commonwealth Games

Â鶹Éç Sport's Red Button service offers up to six live streams of live action from the Commonwealth Games in Delhi each day from October 3-14, with Freeview offering one extra stream on top of the Â鶹Éç One/Two coverage. Live coverage starts at around 3am most days and finishes at around 6pm.

Full replays and highlights packages of selected events will be available after live coverage has ended each day.

ZingZillas Zingalong

ZingZillas on the Â鶹Éç Red Button

Younger viewers can press the Red Button to zing, zing, zingalong with ZingZillas when they access a karaoke service featuring six Big Zings from ZingZillas. Each song features lyrics and a bouncing coconut to highlight each word as it's sung so you can zingalong!

More information on all the CBeebies characters can be found at:

This service will be available from Friday 15 to Wednesday 20 October, 6am to 7pm, daily on Freeview, Sky and Virgin.

1Xtra Live

This year marks the third Â鶹Éç Radio 1Xtra Live event, and Â鶹Éç Red Button is getting in on the action. This year, the massive, free, ticketed celebration of 1Xtra R&B and 1Xtra hip hop goes to Wembley Arena on Saturday 25 September 2010, where artists dominating the urban music scene will be performing. Acts include: N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah, Roll Deep, US chart-toppers Jason Derulo and B.o.B.

Artists that have played at Â鶹Éç Radio 1Xtra Live in the past include: Akon, Kelly Rowland, Chris Brown, Chase and Status, Sugababes, Dizzee Rascal, Estelle, Jay Sean, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, JLS, Kano, Taio Cruz, Donae'o, Craig David and Lupe Fiasco.

Viewers can press red for highlights from the concert this September.

Weekend Wogan At The London Palladium

This October Sir Terry Wogan starts his new Â鶹Éç Radio 2 series with a special show live from the world-famous London Palladium, all in aid of Â鶹Éç Children In Need.

Status Quo, JLS and Imelda May lead this stellar line-up and a highlights programme can be found under the Â鶹Éç Red Button. The programme also includes Elio Pace and his house band, plus more surprise artists still to be announced.

Available from 4 October.

Phill And Noel's Question Time

This year on Â鶹Éç Red Button, viewers have the chance to ask the Never Mind The Buzzcocks team captains anything they like – no matter how daft. Phill Jupitus and Noel Fielding pick out their favourite questions and debate them until they've got a definitive answer.

So whether you want to know who's the best dressed rock star ever, whether last week's guests were as nice as they seemed, or you just can't decide what to have for tea, Phill and Noel are here to help ... a bit. Fans should think of it as a vital public service ... except it's completely useless!

Phill And Noel's Question Time will be available after the show via Â鶹Éç Red Button.

Sarah Jane Adventures Quiz

Viewers who press the red button after the popular children's drama can test their knowledge in the Sarah Jane Adventures Quiz. They can also watch clips from the show and answer questions put to them by the Bannerman Road Gang; test their memory and observational skills; and if they make the grade they can go to the website and download a special certificate saying they have passed the "Red Button" level of the Sarah Jane Academy.

Available this October.
