Listen to Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire and Sean Moore talking about their non-album, charity single Theme From M.A.S.H. (Suicide Is Painless) - one of the 10 songs that mean most to the band.

In 1992, after the release of Little Baby Nothing, the last single from Generation Terrorists, Manic Street Preachers were asked to contribute a cover of a number one single to a charity album in aid of the then-Spastics Society.

They chose the Johnny Mandel and Mike Altman-penned classic Suicide Is Painless, the theme song to M.A.S.H.

The single hit number seven in the UK charts, becoming their first top 10 track. It shared its double-A side billing with Fatima Mansions (!) doing (Everything I Do) I Do It for You.
