Listen to Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire and Sean Moore talking about their first single Suicide Alley - one of the 10 songs that mean most to the band.

Suicide Alley was self-released in 1988 by the band, who were a trio at the time. Richey Edwards was their friend and driver and he took the photo of Sean, James and Nicky for the front cover.

Although the single was released in 1988, it wasn't until several months earlier that the press began to pick up on the band, driven largely by Steven Wells' 'Single of the Week' review in 1989.
