Highlights of Hadrian's Wall of Sound

Hadrian's Wall of Sound was an ambitious musical relay that spanned 73 miles. The event began at daybreak in Bowness-on-Solway in West Cumbria and finished in Wallsend, North Tyneside 14 hours later.

Hundreds of musicians travelled 117km along the wall using transport including a vintage bus, motorbikes, unicycles and a tractor, passing a baton shaped like a music note from performer to performer.

Line-up

More than 600 musicians took part in the relay showcasing opera to indie, hip-hop to classical and pop to big-band classics.

The relay included opera singers Anna Flannagan and Graeme Danby, folk singer Maddy Prior, the 麻豆社 Singers, 麻豆社 Introducing act MyLittleBrother and folk duo The Unthanks.
