Your Story: Cloughs from Near and Far

In October 2001 I brought a group of American Clough's to England and Wales where we visited Clough related sites, including Plas Clough, Bach-y-Graig, and others. I also introduced them to certain Richard Clough descendants.

On our last day together we stopped by Oxford University where Dr. Sykes met with us. He gave us the results of our DNA analyses. It turned out that the DNA from the John and Richard Clough descendants matched exactly! When you combine these results with the very uncommon shared surname it nearly proves that we who descend from John Clough are, in some way, related to those who descend from Sir Richard Clough.

Since that time we have continued our Clough Surname DNA Study to the benefit of all involved.
