Sir Richard Clough – ‘The Most Complete Man’

Richard Clough hailed from Tudor and Stuart Denbighshire, which has been described as "the powerhouse of Renaissance Wales", and became a remarkable figure in history. A successful and entrepreneurial merchant, Clough was one of many men who had taken advantage of the new opportunities for Welshmen in London after the Act of Union of 1536. The Act was designed to unite the English and Welsh after centuries of invasion and conflict, for the Tudors aimed at making one nation of both people, all speaking the English language. More...
