This week's show was a twilight forest of mysterious bleeps and crescent moon melodies courtesy of Mold's . Their live set from Hendre Hall in Bangor, recorded at the start of March, is all embers and originality, and strikingly beautiful in (many) places.

They're home-recording a debut EP proper at the moment. Expect something subtle and very special indeed - as exemplified by this set.

The human drama in Sunday's show was provided by my producer, Jeremy. He had a blowout on the A55 and was thus stranded for the duration of the show.

This meant 1) he was very nervous I'd play the wrong Four Letter Word track (thus making the Ross/Brand outrage look like a broken teacup at a WI meeting); 2) I didn't have access to Huw Pooh, Bethan Elfyn or Lara Catrin, who'd been locked away on Jeremy's computer, inaccessible to me, and 3) it meant he missed out on some outrageously great new Welsh music from the likes of Ersatz, Richard James and Bedford Falls (but - obviously - he'll be catching up via the iPlayer.

Ben Hayes did make it into to studio clutching musical inspiration from elsewhere from The Monkees.
