The Berkshire Bronty Cliff Hanger

Chris Evans | 17:48 UK time, Friday, 28 May 2010

Will I ever see my dinosaur? I fear not, as more worthy custodians seem to be ahead of me in the queue to home this fabulous fibreglass beastie.

To have one's own national radio show, some lovely motor cars, a sexy fab wife, gorgeous young son and beautiful daughter is one thing, but to have a life size dino surely has to be the icing on the cake!

What will be will be though, and I will respect the hands of fate whatever happens - here's hoping but not expecting.

Enjoy your weekend guys, you deserve it.

Sad Day, Mad Day - It's All Part And Parcel

Chris Evans | 10:20 UK time, Thursday, 27 May 2010

So sorry about Beez, I had no idea. Truth be told I don't have a computer connection at home, and my new phone has a different format which makes reading the internet generally nigh on impossible. That's why Twitter has sort of taken over for me. A real shock though obviously, now I know more about what led to the lovely Beez sudden demise.

But of course this will happen I suppose, people of the blog will move on in many ways including the ultimate passing as we have now experienced - something that probably never occurred to most of us when we began exchanging these silly little daily missives four or five years ago - or whenever the heck it was.

I used to be scared of death, especially my own but now I have come round to the point of view that it's just not worth it, it doesn't make sense, there's no point. If we live hard enough and colourfully enough and expend enough energy while we are still here, hopefully we won't then feel short changed when our time comes to check out, in fact we might be so tired we could even be grateful for the chance to stop. I'm not joking, live life large - die happy.

As far as our recently dearly departed scribe is concerned, she is now gone and she is not coming back, so let's celebrate what we knew of her and liked about her and smile when we think of her. Today on the blog let's find out more about Beez, you knew her far better than I did so come on, fess up.

Truckloads of love to you all today.

When Flip Flops Go Bad

Chris Evans | 09:59 UK time, Tuesday, 25 May 2010

My mate Marky Mark, West Ham fan and food emporium devotee was shunted up the back end yesterday, by a lady whose flip flop became stuck against her accelerator pedal.

Half a moment later and the big man gets a whack up the rear bumper.

"So how are you ?" I ask him.

"I think I may have whiplash" he says.

Now I'm no doctor, but if there's one neck in the world that might well be whiplash resistant it's his.

What do you reckon ?

Blue Sky Thinking

Chris Evans | 12:41 UK time, Monday, 24 May 2010

Let's use this power and energy that today has given us FOR FREE to make great decisions. No hung parliament here - your decisions are yours and yours alone.

Had a meeting scheduled for the office today with my publisher, so we moved it to the park instead - under the trees. I never realised there were so many different greens.

It was another Book ll meeting and a new title brainstorm session: Christory.

Joke! Honestly, there were many much worse than that, good fun though.

I quite liked Bed and Breakfast - but it's a little too suggestive Natalie thought, and she's The Boss so that's that.

I love that thing up there called the sun, so I'm going out for more.

Toodle - ooh.

A Golfing Hero...

Here it is, the long awaited picture of Brucie on the golf course:

Thanks for all the kind wishes with regards to my wife Tash and the unfortunate and unexpected predicament which befell her this week.

She really wasn't very well at all on Wednesday night but miraculously after some fast and clever work by those genius people in the hospital - you know the ones we can never figure out how to thank properly, she's now out of danger.

The incredible thing is that from being so poorly just a couple of days ago, she is well on the way to making a full recovery and other than the need for plenty of r 'n r over the next month or so she is 100 % back in the game.

But my goodness me doesn't the odd dose of morphine make for some racy conversations?

Lots of love dudes of the blog.

Step Up To The Hockney And See What Ye Can Find.

Chris Evans | 06:13 UK time, Wednesday, 19 May 2010

Popped into a well known bookstore yesterday to buy some books about the great British artist David Hockney - The Man, as far as I am concerned.

You can keep your Warhol and your Lichtenstein - I seriously have no idea why they are valued at the kind of prices that they seem to be.

Anyhow, went to pay and as I was doing so, I spotted a book called The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, so I bought that too - don't ask me why, I just did.

Read it in a couple of hours and it's brilliant, you might want to pick up a copy. . .

Four Hours For Free

Chris Evans | 11:48 UK time, Tuesday, 18 May 2010

Had to work in between work today, don't you just hate that? Where did life go all of a sudden?

Radio Show this morning; awards hosting tonight; and writing in between - but here's the thing - I left the house without my computer so I can't write a word. And here's me now with four hours spare, and a beautiful day to have them spare in.

Immediately having realised this, one name crossed my mind - Robin Hood - but cinema wasn't built for sunny days, so I'm off to buy a book instead and I'm gonna spend the afternoon reading in the park whilst trying not to get too red.

Just finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo which was a definite nine out of ten - what next? This is a big bonus Tuesday I have here now. And I'm excited.

Good Morning Great Britain and Thanks For Tuning In

Chris Evans | 11:00 UK time, Monday, 17 May 2010

So it appears that there are a few people who quite like what we do on the radio in the mornings. Thank the Lord for that.

Let me tell you, we were all so pleased and grateful to hear the good news about our listening figures last week. It was the kind of news we didn't even dare to dream about when we took over from Sir Tel.

I still can hardly believe the numbers, but of course we have been in this game a long time and for the same reasons we didn't panic in the beginning - we know not to start crowing now. The race is long and we are all very well aware of that.

Our ratings will go up, as they just have, but no doubt they will also go down at some point in the future - that's the nature of the beast. All we can do in between is do the best show we can every single day we are allowed on the radio.

Having access to a Â鶹Éç microphone is never a right, it is only ever a privilege, something I have finally come to realise - what a learning curve that was !

Onwards my friends, onwards.
