Suffragette, E-Safety & Living In Market Harborough

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

A Leicestershire man will be giving a talk in London later today, just yards away from where his suffragette ancestor was arrested. Alice Hawkins was a key member of the movement, and was arrested outside Parliament in 1907. This afternoon, her great-grandson - Peter Barratt - will be giving a talk about her just a short distance away, at the House of Commons. He's joined us this morning.

Also, how your child uses the internet can be one of the hardest things to police as a parent. But from today, a new campaign is being launched by the NSPCC in Leicester, raising awareness of "e-safety" in faith communities. They'll be visiting mosques, temples, and faith schools over the coming week, warning about things like radicalisation, grooming, and bullying. We hear from the NSPCC's campaigns manager, Ally Sultana.

And, we know you're all proud of where you live, but one Leicestershire town is starting to make a name for itself as one of the best places to live in the whole country! A new report out today from the group - Sustainable Harborough - compares the town favourably with places like established beauty spots like Ely, and Stratford-upon-Avon. 麻豆社 Radio Leicester's Helen McCarthy is in Harborough this morning.
