Medic Vacancies, Oscars & Leap Year Birthdays!

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

A new report from the 麻豆社 has found hospitals across the country are increasingly having to look abroad for new staff.

In December 2015, Leicester's hospitals had more than 500 nurse vacancies - that's about 9 percent, and 44 doctors vacancies - about 6 percent. And it's a similar picture across the UK, with unions describing it as a recruitment crisis.
We talk to Shelia Marriott from the Royal College of Nursing and Louise Tibbert, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development from the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

We also chat about the Oscars, as the 88th Academy Awards was one filled with controversy and a few surprises.
As expected Mad Max: Fury Road walked away with a clutch of golden statutes at the prestigious Hollywood event And the Brits had pretty decent showing too, not to mention a first ever Oscar for Leonardo DiCaprio!
We were joined by Dave McGuckin, from Phoenix cinema in Leicester whoran through the awards with us.

And, today is the 29th of February. A day, that only comes round once every four years! But, what about those who are only able to celebrate their "official" birthday, once every one thousand, four hundred and eight days?
Well, we found someone that does! Today, John from Rowley Fields, celebrated his 18th official birthday - despite being born in 1944.
And he spoke to Jim and Jo on the breakfast programme this morning.
