Toilets, Rugby & Quidditch

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Could the rising costs of Leicestershire's public toilets be under threat from budget cuts? Loos are collectively costing our local authorities hundreds of thousands of pounds each year. And just this week Melton Borough Council has concluded a consultation into how it'll continue to provide these crucial services. It's already charging 30p "a go". Meanwhile, down the road, Charnwood Borough council has introduced a charge of 20p, as it tries to offset the 拢130,000 a year cost of the toilets in Loughborough. We hear your thoughts around the county.

Also, more than seventy doctors, academics and public health experts have called on the governments of the UK and Ireland to ban tackling in rugby games in schools. They've warned that children are being exposed to significant risk of serious injuries. But what do you think?

And, it's a good time for sport in Leicester right now. Leicester City sit top of the Premier League, The Tigers are competing well in Europe, and The Riders are BBL Trophy champions. But there's another Leicester sports team that's doing well... The Leicester Thestrals, who play... Quidditch. That's right, you may recognise the name of the game from Harry Potter, but did you know the magical sport is played by muggles all over the world, including our own Leicester university. We sent our very own Jack Rafferty to a training session at Victoria Park to find out more.

Also in the show, we've been asking farmers in Melton what they think about the EU referendum, and how much of a difference will the new Accident and Emergency department make?
