This week there’s a Nordic feel to the afternoons, including venues, composers and performers from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Today, Finnish conductor Mikko Franck and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra continue their cycle of Sibelius symphonies with a dazzling performance of No.6. There’s also Mozart and Galuppi from Icelandic pianist Vikingur Ólafsson, Nielsen’s tone poem Pan and Syrinx from the Â鶹Éç National Orchestra of Wales, and the Danish String Quartet plays Boccherini.
You can also hear another of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons from recorder-player Erik Bosgraaf and the Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, recorded at last autumn’s London International Festival of Early Music.
