Sibelius’ Symphony No.5 from Paris and pianist Vikingur Ólafsson plays Mozart

This week, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish composers, performers and venues provide a Nordic flavour to the afternoons. Today, Finnish conductor Mikko Franck and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra play Sibelius’ much-loved Symphony No.5. There’s also Mozart from Icelandic pianist Vikingur Ólafsson, Stenhammar’s tone poem Excelsior from the Â鶹Éç National Orchestra of Wales, and Norwegian violinist Johan Dalene plays music by Rautavaara.
