This week Cerys chats to song-writer and performer Jen Cloher. Earlier this year Jen released their fifth album I Am The River, The River Is Me which explores the notion that home is not a place but instead in the community you keep and was partly inspired by Jen's matrilineal line of w膩hine M膩ori. Jen has also been working on a podcast celebrating the unique experiences of M膩ori and First Nations songwriters who are writing and performing in their tribal languages. Jen chats to Cerys live from her tour bus to discuss Maori language, musical heroes and performing in front of Gillian Welch.

We learn about the inclusive Music Makes Me project, which aims to look at the world through a divergent and creative viewpoint. Working with 1200 young people, 40 schools, 5 of which are special educational needs and disability schools, to chart the life of a neuro-divergent young person through music and song writing for an upcoming performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

Cerys pays tribute to guitarist and singer Tony McPhee who founded The Groundhogs as well as backing blues artists like John Lee Hooker, Little Walter and Jimmy Reed. Expect the usual Cerys eclectic mix featuring vintage sounds and new finds from around the world. With new music from The Woodlice, Bala Desejo, Natalie Duncan and Les Mamans Du Congo and classics from The Doors, Aretha Franklin and Bonnie Raitt.
