Cerys handpicks you an eclectic carnival playlist filled with dub, reggae, calypso and sambas for the bank holiday weekend.

Writer and educator Jeffrey Boakye shares pivotal tracks exploring the experience, history and culture of black Britain. Taking us from the late 1940s with Lord Kitchener to Linton Kwesi Johnson's writing about racism in 1970s to contemporary artists Estelle, Stormzy and Jords. Jeffrey Boakye grew up in Brixton, London, and is a secondary school English teacher in East Yorkshire. As an author he's written books on Black British Culture including Black, Listed and his most recent publication Musical Truth.

Cerys also takes a pitstop in the world of The Moomins, created in the 1950s by Tove Jansson. Tove's niece Sophia shares her first memories of the stories and her fondest memories of her nature-loving aunt.
