Formula 1 – Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying

Live event/outside broadcast
Saturday 15 May
12.10-2.35pm Â鶹Éç ONE

Jake Humphrey hosts live coverage of qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix.

The glitz and glamour of Monte Carlo provides the setting as the drivers negotiate the tight turns of the famous street circuit in an attempt to land the all-important pole position for Sunday.

Jenson Button topped qualifying last year, going on to win the race itself – one of six victories the Briton notched up on his way to the Formula 1 title. Button will be aiming for a similar result this season, although his rivals include Michael Schumacher who will be looking for a record-equalling sixth victory in the race. However, Monaco has also been the scene of controversy for the German, who was stripped of pole position in 2006 after stewards ruled that he deliberately stopped on the track after running wide, preventing rivals from setting a faster qualifying time.

All New Total Wipeout Ep 8/8

Saturday 15 May
5.25-6.25pm Â鶹Éç ONE

In the search for the Champion of Champions, the top three contestants from each previous show return to All New Total Wipeout in one massive head-to-head jamboree across South America's craziest obstacle course.

As always, Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram take charge and guide viewers through the fastest and most competitive episode ever of Total Wipeout.

All the contestants have made it through to the fearsome and soaking wet Wipeout Zone once before, but who can do it again?

The competition is crazier than ever before. Not only do the competitors have Total Wipeout experience, they also have form. And for some of them, that form is bad! How many will have learnt from their mistakes and how many have returned just simply to repeat the same hilarious errors?

The All New Total Wipeout final features some of the best obstacles the course has ever seen. The Rake-in-Face can smack the unsuspecting or over-confident contestant right in the face; a computer games expert, a café owner and a search-and-rescue pilot all become victims in embarrassing but spectacular style.

This week also sees the return of The Swing Thing. Not only a test of skill and strength, it is also a test of judgement. Very few people, even the Total Wipeout finalists, possess all three, while most people here lack two or more... A Take That impersonator and a crime scene investigator just can't make the grade, but a detective inspector makes his mark.

The final also provides original and spectacular solutions to Total Wipeout's favourite obstacles: in a lop-sided boxing match, Huddersfield's very own "Muhammad Ali" stands up to the Sucker Punch; and a cheerleader manages the jammiest ball crossing ever seen on the show.

When it comes to Crash Mountain, the speed and agility of the finalists is astounding, while Dizzy Dummies is one of the closest in this series, with plenty of dirty tricks as the finalists battle it out for that coveted title. The stakes are higher, the competition tougher – and no one is ready to give up their place in the Wipeout Zone without a fight.

Casualty – Russian Endings

Saturday 15 May
9.00-9.50pm Â鶹Éç ONE

There's new blood in the Emergency Department as Lucy Gaskell joins the cast of the medical drama as staff nurse Kirsty Clements. Ruffling feathers, she makes an instant impression – and not necessarily a good one.

It's Kirsty's first day in the ED, but her forceful attitude could be her undoing. Spying Ruth with a patient, Kirsty publicly informs her that he's an addict, after morphine. Ruth is less than impressed to be shown up by the new girl. Jay starts the rumour mill, telling everyone Kirsty left her last job under a cloud. She certainly doesn't impress Tess by later fighting with a patient. It looks as though her stay at the ED could very short...

Jeff and Dixie find Stewart distraught and covered in blood. Investigating a noise in Stewart's basement, Jeff discovers teenager Jamie tied up. Surprisingly, it's only Kirsty who manages to get through to Stewart. He reveals that he's anxious about "Bruce". But when Jay examines Jamie he finds chemical burns – has Stewart tortured his captive?

Meanwhile, Jordan has had a blackout. He gets to work late, dismissing Zoe's questions about his head wound. Henry and Jordan tell hospital board member Robert that the ED needs his funding, but Robert coolly explains that they have to prove they deserve it first. Increasingly pregnant Shona is also back and asking for money, but Charlie is deeply sceptical – especially when he finds a bottle of vodka in her bag.

Yuki is finally back at work, but can he cope when a patient he's treating dies?

Kirsty Clements is played by Lucy Gaskell, Ruth by Georgia Taylor, Jay by Ben Turner, Tess by Suzanne Packer, Jeff by Matt Bardock, Dixie by Jane Hazlegrove, Stewart by Steve Speirs, Jamie by Ricci McLeod, Jordan by Michael French, Zoe by Sunetra Sarker, Henry by Tom Chadbon, Shona by Evelyn Hoskins, Charlie by Derek Thompson and Yuki by Will Sharpe.

The Fastest Man Who Has Ever Lived

Saturday 15 May
5.10-6.10pm Â鶹Éç TWO (Schedule addition 6 May)

Usain Bolt is the fastest man on the planet and a sportsman like no other. He blew away his competition at the Beijing Olympics and World Championships in Berlin, seemingly without even trying. But what makes him so much faster than any other man in the history of the human race?

In The Fastest Man Who Has Ever Lived, athletics legend Michael Johnson investigates how 23-year-old Bolt has achieved the speed to have blown the minds of people across the globe.

In an enthralling journey, Johnson travels to Jamaica to spend time with Bolt in Kingston. There, he meets the sprint phenomenon's family in the rural hills of the country and speaks to those who saw Bolt's rise from a cricket-obsessed youngster to one of the most celebrated sports stars of a generation.

The Â鶹Éç's athletics expert also analyses Bolt's biomechanics and not only answers the question of what makes him so fast but also goes further by revealing what could make him even quicker.

Johnson explores every element of the Bolt story from the suspicions of drug-taking and the burden of singlehandedly carrying athletics to how the Jamaican is dealing with the constant worldwide media attention.

I'm In A Rock 'n' Roll Band! – The Drummer Ep 3/6

Saturday 15 May
9.45-10.45pm Â鶹Éç TWO

A graphic illustration of Meg White
I'm In A Rock 'n' Roll Band explores the world of the drummer

The world of the drummer is the latest to be dissected in this series exploring the chemistry of bands and what makes each individual musician tick.

Musical anthropology meets rock autobiography as this episode looks at the evidence and seeks to find out, for better or worse, what it's like being the drummer – the butt of all the jokes; the engine of the band; occasionally the voice of reason; but more often the most likely to go off the rails.

It's the drummer's beat that has crowds swaying and jumping in their thousands. The programme investigates this power, the persona of the drummer, the aesthetics behind their wild behaviour and why they are diminished by their band mates.

They make an unremitting racket and destroy perfectly good furniture; they sweat like boxers and drink like lords, while travelling the world and getting paid. Surely they've won ... beaten the system. Could you get any more rock 'n' roll than that?

Narrated by Mark Radcliffe, the documentary also includes contributions from Tommy Lee; Jason Bonham; Dave Grohl; Taylor Hawkins; John Densmore; Nick Mason; Phil Collins; Stewart Copeland; Stephen Morris; Carl Palmer; and Samantha Maloney.

I'm In A Rock 'n' Roll Band! is a multi-platform project on Â鶹Éç Two, Â鶹Éç Radio 2 and bbc.co.uk. The series culminates in a live studio show in June, where industry experts discuss their favourite rock 'n' roll musicians and create the ultimate fantasy band.
