Â鶹Éç presenters, producers, cameramen and reporters from Hull will be breaking a leg and sucking in their stomachs over the next couple of weeks but it's all in a good cause - to raise lots of dosh for Comic Relief.

Ìý

Well-known names from Â鶹Éç Radio Humberside and Â鶹Éç Look North have agreed to join colleagues from Â鶹Éç Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in staging a fashion show and Stars In Our Eyes spectacular.

Ìý

Organiser Jonathan Parker - who is also a senior broadcast journalist in Hull - said: "All the staff are really getting behind these ideas, we're going to have great fun and hopefully raise loads of money for Comic Relief."

Ìý

Fashion students from Hull College have designed clothes for the fashion show along the themes of Roald Dahl and Shakespeare.

Ìý

The event will be staged in the Open Centre of Hull's new Â鶹Éç building in Queen's Court on Wednesday 9 March.

Ìý

Tickets are available from The Â鶹Éç Open Centre in Hull. They are free of charge but there will be plenty of opportunity to make donations during the evening.

Ìý

Soon after, the staff will be treading the boards again at Hull New Theatre to take on reigning winner Look North presenter Helen Philpot in The Stars In Our Eyes show.

Ìý

Jonathan said: "We organised this for Comic Relief two years ago and it was an absolute sell-out so we're hoping for a good audience again.

Ìý

"I can promise you the staff will be belting out those tunes - and there maybe one or two surprise appearances..."

Ìý

Acts "booked" already for the evening of Wednesday 23 March include The Spice Girls, Elton John & Kiki Dee, Meatloaf, Cher, Simon & Garfunkel and The Happy Mondays.

Ìý

Tickets cost £9.50 and £8, and are available from the theatre's box office, telephone 01482 226655.
