A unique film to raise awareness of the messages behind Red Nose Day 2005 has been produced by 400 young people from East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire.

The young people, who range from primary school children to university students, have scripted, directed and produced the film which will be shown on the Big Screen in Hull on Red Nose Day, Friday 11 March, and will also be available on the 麻豆社's pioneering digital interactive service in the city.

麻豆社 Head of Region in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, Helen Thomas, explained that the 麻豆社 had helped the youngsters with staff and equipment but the production of the film was entirely their own work.

She said: "The young people have worked really hard to get this film together in time. We have mentored and offered advice but they have done all the work themselves from sourcing material, scripting, editing, directing and producing, we are very proud of them."

The young people were divided into six groups to produce the film on their response to Red Nose Day - serious or fun - and allocated 10 minutes each.

Part of the film involved almost 200 children from different primary schools across Hull coming together to sing their own version of the official single of Red Nose Day- All About You by McFly.

Another section features young people from a Hull Arts community group who tackle bullying, and a group from TRIN Youth Centre in Cleethorpes who perform sketches.

The film also features children from Swinemoor Youth Centre in Beverley, dance groups and workshops, integrated with clips about Comic Relief's work in the UK and Africa.

A Comic Relief spokesperson said: "It's fantastic that young people in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have come together and worked so hard to make this funny and moving film for Red Nose Day 2005.

"Red Nose Day is all about having fun and including everyone and we look forward to even more young people from all over the UK being involved in groundbreaking projects like this in the future."
