More Than Alright
Adam Bainbridge, also known as Kindness, released his debut album in March of this year. Called World, You Need a Change Of Mind, it combines 90鈥檚 sounding funk guitars with eerie samples, plus covers of Swingin鈥� Party by The Replacements and a slightly more unusual re-working of Anita Dobson鈥檚 Eastenders anthem, Anyone Can Fall In Love.
The record was produced by Philippe Zdar of Cassius, who also worked on albums for Phoenix and Chromeo. He perfectly understood Bainbridge鈥檚 desire to create a vibe not dissimilar to Prince, displaying a love of music that transcends simply reproducing what is cool.
Kindness will enthral North West London with a version of chillwave impossible to stand still to.
