Indie Legends bring 6 Music Live at Maida Vale to a close
25 million albums sold worldwide, writers of some of the biggest indie anthems of the last 25 years, a perennially popular festival band… it can only be James.
Formed in Manchester in the early 80s, the band have survived label collapses, line up changes, hiatuses and illness to become one of the biggest live indie acts in the UK, regularly selling out huge venues to their legion of hardcore fans.
Their 12th LP 'La Petit Mort' was released in June this year and sees the band adding synth led, EDM inspired layer to their trademark indie sound.
Earlier this year band won Steve Lamacq’s ‘Manchester World Cup’, and followed up their victory by playing the inaugural live session edition of Now Playing @ 6 Music with Tom Robinson, before heading off to the Latitude Festival.
Promising a career spanning set and Tim’s infamous dancing, their performance will be sure to see out this year’s Maida Vale sessions in style.
