Every Â鶹Éç Local Radio station has its own Local Advisory
Council (LAC) with twelve members from a wide range of backgrounds.
They represent listeners and viewers in the area, and meet regularly
to offer advice and feedback on Â鶹Éç programmes and services in their
area.

Accountability
is changing!

There will be big changes to the Â鶹Éç's accountability
under the new Royal Charter starting from January 2007.
The local and regional advisory councils and the English National
Forum will disappear, to be replaced by larger Regional Audience
Councils reporting to the Audience Council England.
The councils will have a wider remit. They will advise the new
Â鶹Éç Trust (which replaces the Board of Governors) on all national,
regional and local services and on Â鶹Éç policy.
