Â鶹Éç Wales's new TV series, My Secret Wales, started last night and if you watch online [fast forward through to 19 minutes] you get a revealing insight into the region's once most secret of places, Rhydymwyn's Valley Works - the former WWII chemical weapons factory.

Regulars to this website probably know much about the complex's fascinating history but presenter Sara Edwards took a tour with two former employees and a local historian to bring the empty complex back to life.

Rhyl's big heart

Post categories: ,Ìý,Ìý,Ìý

Nick - Web Team Nick - Web Team | 11:59 UK time, Wednesday, 17 September 2008

If you saw last night's TV programme which focused on some of the good people of Rhyl, you could not help but be inspired by their warmth.

The town is forever getting a bad press but the programme showed some of those who live there - the one who choose not to walk away - are playing a big part in helping the locals to help themselves.

There was landlady Geraldine who has taken in more than 100 homeless people, 75-year-old ex-boxer and trainer Jack who's giving young people a focus at Palace Boxing Club and friends Nigel and Tony, from the West Rhyl Community Company, who have been working hard to make the area safe and clean.
