Ellie Goulding: another top pop prospect
Like buses, Welsh artists tipped for big things come in groups. After Marina And The Diamonds came onto my radar, another Welsh singer-songwriter, Ellie Goulding of Knighton in Powys has crashed into the public consciousness this week.

She's signed to the major label Polydor and has been working with celebrity producing machine to hone her shiny pop, which gets its first commercial outing on 16 November.
Her debut single, Under The Sheets, is a buoyant piece of brilliantly effective in-your-face, sweeping, glittery pop which came across very well on Later... With Jools Holland a few days back.
Dressed in a hoodie and clonking a big drum with aplomb, 22 year old Goulding gave an indication of the star quality that has seen Radio 1 get behind her sharpish. With the full weight of Polydor and a style which is both genuinely credible and irresistibly radio-friendly, she's going to be on everyone's lips for 2010.
