Memo to the Minister
Sir HumphreyReaders who caught last night's Newsnight would have been treated to something rather unexpected: the return to our screens of Sir Humphrey Appleby.

This time Sir Humphrey was played by Henry Goodman but his words were written by Antony Jay - who, with Jonathan Lynn, was responsible for the classic Yes, Minister.

For three nights, Sir Humphrey is here to "flick through the main party manifestos and offer his unique advice for any incoming minister on handling, or getting around, aspects of potential future policy".

You can read all about this special occasion from Producer Jonathan Harvey over on the , and, if you missed it, watch the first right now.
