Brrr, chilly today, but wall to wall sunshine, so not all bad!

Nancy Du-lally on Friday - can't wait, but will have to do listen again as I'm in meetings all morning. You're a brave man Chris!!

Sounds like quite a few of you need lots of hugs today, so I'm sending them {{{HUGS}}} as you were all there for me when I needed them most.

Update on the horse - tried to ride on Saturday, but my kneee didn't like it. Went through the pain barrier, but not sure about it at all - psychological I can overcome, but this is ouch-physical!! Going to see the GP tomorrow, then hopefully try again at the weekend.

Bikes!! An issue we have in our office with people leaning them up against the walls. They're an ugly sight too! Lock ups required in Manchester as they keep getting nicked

Don't talk to ME about bikes. I've scraped me shin, got roared at in traffic, tormented at an early age by a psychopath on a three-wheeler wit frogs in the boot, welted wit a bicycle pump, got me sock caught on a bike wheel whilst fishin' for sticklebacks, even run over by one. So if any eejit leaves 'is bike in MY hallway I'm goin' to tar an' feather the thing an' 'ang me washin' on it without further ado.

Am goun' for a lie down.

Hello Again.

Heavy rain & wind since my post a little while ago when I said it was OK, will it change before I finish this one?

I don't have a bike in my hallway CLP (not at the present moment) but I do have a mobility scooter parked behind my door. And I'm not happy at all because the builders have put their scaffolding up preventing me from doing my usual straight up the path and then reversing nicely into it's space. The last time I arrived home a piece of scaffolding caused me to keep reversing too far to the left. As I kept on going in and out of the door at the same time a workman was tryin g to walk up my path with a large piece of wood saying "is she going in or coming out?" In the end three builders carried it into the hall.

Off again soon, it's OK going out but will I get back in again?

Quiet on here again today - long gone are the days when we used to reach the 100's by 5 o'clock.

Living in flats is always controversial, fortunately where I live we have individual cupboards in the under croft where you can store bikes, albeit on its back wheel and standing up right. You can also store a load of rubbish there too, like I do!

But there are strict rules as to what to do with your washing! No putting it out on the balcony and it also mustn't be seen from the road.

There should also be rules about neighbours who live above you having their food shopping delivered at 10:20pm at night!!!!

Nice sunny weather down south, but very chilly. The office heating hasn't been switched on yet, so I'm freezing.

Afternoon lovelies

I've never lived in shared accommodation, and the two flats I've lived in during my lifetime have both been so small a child's tricycle would've struggled for space!

I'm having a better day today and making some progress which feels nice.

Also booked the breakfast venue for CiN Day .... the most important meal of the day before we all toodle off to work our socks off for Pudsey. Really, it's not a jolly - it's very hard work but rewarding too.

Nic's cooking tea tonight - something with fresh tuna by Jamie Oliver. Bring it on!

Hope you're all fighting fit and as gawjus as ever.

Re: Nancy - I could be wrong, but I think she is an utter nutter. She looks at all the other contestants in Strictly with complete disdain and her face is always tripping her. I find her quite, quite unattractive.

But, if anyone can get a decent interview out of her, it's our fantastic Chris!

Re: bikes. Well, as I have said before on this very forum, I am certain that my fate is to be run over and mangled by someone on a bike! With all due respect to cyclists (and my husband used to be one of them) the majority of them do tend to think they can do what they like on the roads, and that traffic laws don't apply to them. I have had a few very close calls with cyclists, that's for sure!

Maddy: hope you managed to get into your house on your return!

Afternoon from another freezing office - wish they'd put the heat on!!

I've always lived on a farm so would find it very difficult not to be able to find space to store anything ....... now, which barn did I leave the cycles in ....... :-)

I do have other problems though - like a permanently muddy car which people at work accuse me of never cleaning, and the nearest shop being 4 miles away!

Pouring with rain now - just in time for leaving off........... oh joy.

Don't have to have the bikes in the hall but they are always getting in the way in the garage - somehow we seem to have about 89 bikes for 2 boys - weel, maybe a small exageration!!

Ok, so got Finlay into kennels, hotel booked for Uncles funeral, work have been so great about it all!! Especially as I've only been there 5 minutes!

The good friend who's Mum has has a stroke, well that's actually my new bloke... I am devastated for him and actually don't know to handle it at all!! I'm trying to be there for him, but am I interfering?? I only text once a day!

Hello all - just posted this on FaceCloth, but was so touched by everyone's generosity in sending messages of support after Jasper's medical emergency on Monday, that I wanted to put it here also (apologies Chris - hope you can forgive):

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to all who sent such wonderful messages of comfort and support following Jasper's emergency on Monday evening. He is much better - though it seems that the crisis came about because his tumour is "on the move". He is not in pain and is back to his cheeky self. I cannot put into words how much your supportive posts meant to me. They REALLY kept me going through a most distressing time. Bless you all. Jasper sends his thanks, love and licks too. xx

PS - Jasper is my DOG, in case anyone reading this thinks I have a male friend/relative who goes around licking people!

I always hoped that, one day, I'd have a nice Victorian terraced house in central London - and I always envisaged that I'd have a bike in the hallway! Though anyone who rides a bike through central London these days needs a bravery medal... x

A new bloke, eh? What a lucky man, to have got himself a lovely Jakeygirl - but so sorry to hear about his mum; hope she makes a decent recovery. The best thing is, I think, just to be there for your man and you sound like you're doing that. Little things often speak so much more than grand gestures. xxx

BTW - I had a dream the other night about being on R2 with Chris. Three bloggers had been picked to be the Friday guests on the show; me, Not-so-BigUn and I can't remember who else. We arrived one by one and were introduced to Chris who greeted us with a friendly handshake. The show hadn't started yet and Chris suddenly said "Oh no! I've got to post this parcel for Tasha and I promised I'd do it before the show this morning! I'm in SO much trouble...". So I said, "Don't worry, I'll do it." and I took the parcel to the nearest Post Office (paying for the postage out of my own pocket, I might add). On the way back someone asked me for directions, which I gave, and then when I got back to R2 they'd locked me out and wouldn't let me back in. Ken Bruce was guarding the door.

D'you think this means anything? Or should I stop eating cheese in the evenings...?

chris , now a debate about bikes with our Nancy I think would prove very entertaining ,I'd give it a go if I was you .
got lots of bikes around here ,Yhe bikes don't bother me ,its the people that ride them that bother me .
Being a tax payer I'm happy to contribute to these cycle paths ,so why dont they jolly well use them ,and keep off the road.

Roo ,that's great news about Jasper ,at least you can breathe easy for a while again eh!!!.

JG, so pleased to see that you're managing things and I shouldn't worry too much about things ,they have a way of working themselves out,if you let them.

I've had a megga busy day and didn't stop when I got home , have been busy on the old sewing machine tonight catching up on a few things . And now it's nearly that time of day when your head want to hit the pillow.

Bids and MTF - I believe you. Our heating went on this past Saturday, meagre rations but on nonetheless... Not spotted any white stuff yet - but it's in the air, no doubt about that. Giving serious thought to getting my geraniums in. Lost 'em all last year, much to Jasper's amusement - they were the only remaining plants in the garden (apart from the roses) that he hadn't gotten around to eating...! I won't lose them again - and Jasper now understands the consequences of using my borders as his personal salad bar... (Probably. He assures me that he's a reformed character. I've yet to be convinced...!)

Never mind though - each bit of white stuff is that bit that's closer to NEXT summer!

Hi Chris - I had exactly the same problem. My bike cluttered the hallway for months.

I searched the internet and bought a 'protect a cycle' bike box which works great.

Maybe this could be your solution?
