Morning Funsters...

Chris Evans | 09:47 UK time, Friday, 9 October 2009

I've just realised why I don't do tv anymore. It wasn't the shows that were the problem, it was the going out afterwards.

Finished Wossy last night when the lads from Kasabian said, "We're going to a bar - do you wanna come ?"

What seemed like a fortuitous chance for a spot of bonhomie last night is feeling a little less so right now, as we head to Bristol just a few hours later for another day of signings. Great lads though and my daughter and wife deserved a bit of a night out.

Thoroughly enjoyed Jonathan's show. I was totally frank with my answers which seemed to go down well. He was tough but fair, I much prefer it that way - something for us both to get our teeth stuck into. We talked for close to an hour ! Good luck with the edit Suzi, x.

Lots of laughs in there too, I asked Jonathan a few questions re a certain "topic" - intrigued to see if they will make the final cut, as well as the first television appearance of the water proof tissue we had on the radio show a couple of weeks back.

Come and see us in Bristol at 12.30, and Cardiff at 5.30 today. Saturday Kitchen tomorrow -can't wait for that.

Have a great one.

    Chris,

Hope you are not feeling too fragile this morning!

Really looking forward to seeing you on JR this evening - as you say it will be interesting to see what makes the final cut!

Just to let you know, be prepared for meeting Tiggs, Debs and Obamarama in Bristol today! They are just a tiny wee bit excited!

I thought this interview very good.

  • Comment number 6.

Ooh, I'm so excited. Have just got some time off work and am on my way up to Bristol for the signing. I'll look out for 3 super-excited people to see if I can spot Tiggs, Debs and Obamarama too. Bristol here I come!!

  • Comment number 7.

    Now Bloggers,

be careful with Chris when you meet him today. Sounds like he's a bit fragile today. Hopefully the car snack of choccie & crisps will revive him by thias afternoon.

Is he off next week as well, think he's going to need a rest and restock on family time by the end of this week off work.

  • Comment number 8.

    Aww, bit fragile then CLP??

I'm looking forward to seeing Wossy, but might need to tape it, as I've just found out there is definately a waltzer at the fair...yipppeeeeee!!!

Might have to pause Saturday Kitchen for a while too, as have to walk Finlay up to the groomers for his pampering session in the morning.

Excellent Thawk4, have a great time!

JG x (hoping it doesn't rain)!

    Morning everypeeps!

A very long and wonderful night's sleep was had by little me so I'm in a very happy mood today. Tigs & Debs (ta xxx) have a fab time today and make sure you have a big hug for all of us.

It's Friday again... (just checking as I got Tuesday wrong)...already! Now down to 3 weeks left and feeling good!

I know what CLP means about certain things that you've done in the past (in his case TV shows) that were great fun but then lead to other habits and behaviours that make living the rest of your life more difficult. I've got used to not having a hangover and it's fab but who know's when the next one will be.

A grey day here but looking forward to the reports from Bristol later :))

    Hiya

Anyone want any Brazil Nuts? Bought a bag of seeds & stuff to munch at work & didn't realise they were in it. Just yell, I'll chuck em over.

Lyndy, your next hangover will happen a lot quicker than it did before. After so many months of not drinking, it won't take much to make you tipsy when you do, Oh, and getting up to baby when you still feeling, ahem, fragile is so not fun!!

Deevs, do you realise that if you have an attack of the vapours so you have to leave work, whizz over to me, I'll have an attack of the vapours too, we could jump in my car and be in Cardiff by 5.30pm? Just a thought..................

Me thinks a certain Mr R Brand is not the plumpest fella around & you wouldn't turn him down, eh!?!?

Just had text from Boy1 to say he has had a message to go to Headteachers office!!!!! Daren't send him a txt back to ask why cos if Head knows his phone is switched on will not be good.

Why am I automatically worried by this? Just waiting & fretting now til he lets me know what's going on. Just got to hope Boy1 does let me know why. Knowing him he'll breeze in at the end of the day without getting back to me!

    Hello everyone

Deev - Sorry to hear you're feeling mizz and teary.

Sounds like you've had a bit of a week of it too! Onwards and upwards and a bottle of sumfink pink and fizzy will do the trick. Mine is on ice ready for 'ron'. Big hugs hun and to anyone else who is in need.

Hi to everyone else, lurking or otherwise. Have only managed to lurk this week cos it's been manic. Have really enjoyed the piccies at all the mini blog meets...... post 'C' word bash should be arranged for all bloggers and chief blogger himself to attend. Could we find a venue big enough I wonder?

Lyndyloo - bet you are soooo excited. Remember it well 18 years ago now - GD has big birthday next month. Only seems 5 minutes have passed since I was with BIG bump and nesting madly. Cleaning skirting boards on all fours started me off, hell for leather down newly opened M40 at crack of dawn followed by 18 hours of pacing up and down labour ward before GD made her appearance. Know what? She was worth every minute.

Brazil nuts - yes please. Virtual nuts are all I can do these days, due to age onset allergic reaction.

P.S Ooops! Just re-read that, maybe should change it? Nah, CBA

Thanks gang - I gotta stop this crying malarky. It's not good for the mascara.

Seza - a certain Mr R Brand is bulkier "in the flesh" than in his pics (ironic really as most of us think we're of a reasonable size and then photos prove the opposite ...!) When he was trying to break thru in Hollywood he took up power yoga and has good muscle definition now, esp in the armage department .... yumyumyum!

Hope all's good with the boy in the headmasters office - maybe he just needed someone to deliver a memo or sumfink!?!

    Have a great weekend everyone

    Morning CLP,
Glad things are going well with the signings. Still annoyed that you had sold out at the Cheltenham Lit festival though and that you chose this week to appear on all the shows when I am in Philadelphia and cant watch.
    Thank 'evans for I-Player.
    Hope eveyone is well.

MsScoobycat - I might have to do more than give you a wave and get you to direct me in instead. I've never been to Leeds without getting lost in the process so if you see a bewildered looking health rep (small with red hair and a blue toyota) driving around the centre, stop me and point me back to the M62!!

Cheers folks. Signing off now to head off on my travels. Have a gud un! xx

  • Comment number 34.

    Morning....sorry Afternoon!

Chris, I think you deserved a drink or two last night after your hectic week, hope the head clears soon. Do you know I've never had a hangover, maybe that's because I've never been drunk! Have I missed out on anything - think not, I'm drunk on life me..hee hee!

Excited for those meeting CLP today, look forward to the pictures, perhaps even tomorrow as Chris is on hols next week.

Going to have to set my V+ box for Wossy and Saturday Kitchen as I am Street Pastoring tonight, so won't get home till about 4:00am! Then it's up for a hair cut and tint at 10:00am, I might have a snooze in the chair.

I'd like to join the CBA club, after all it is Friday so the working week is nearly over.

Only good things happening today tho so will try not to worry.

Wow - Chris is officially the nicest man on the planet. The poor guy had the three of us to contend with and he was just so lovely. He must be knackered and he made us feel like he had all the time in the world. He said he really locked horns with Jonathan Ross last night and reminded him that it's approaching the first anniversary of the Russell Brand fiasco. Said he really enjoyed it.

Cheryl's phone call was a classic. He said "What d'you mean, who is this? It's me!" They chatted for ages. It looks like he's organising a do on 23rd December.

It was lovely to meet Debs and Tiggs. We were interviewed by the Bristol Evening Post - what a laugh.

Fantastic week all round then - I've been following all the happenings and loving the warmth (mostly) of the blog on the blog and via the birdsong. Chris, you're a top man and your goodness shines through like a....well...erm....shining good thing.

Nice one Cheryl (or should I call you 2nd in command) - you did tweet something about your phone being on your desk but you said nothing about a direct line!

Obama beat me to it - what a top top bloke - he had a massive queue of people waiting and he was sitting back in his chair chatting to our Deevs like he had all the time in the world.

We all got hugs and I have 5 - yep count em - 5 shiny signed copies of his book.

for those that really know me - I couldnt speak - nope not hardly a word - just stood there grinning like a loon! Got some photos of that so will put them on the other side when this thing called work stops getting in the way!

got our photo taken by local press and we did an interview about what are 'blogettes' why do we blog blah blah what a hoot!

Chris - you have made 3 ladies very happy today - oh we did tell him who the hugs were from too!

Obama gave him some wine and he stood up and shouted - "look everyone we have wine"!

Awww, good day today - still grinning like a loon!

    Chris,

What a great thing to do to make that call!

    Cheryl,

When/if you have calmed down, you will have to detail how the conversation went.

    Hiya MJ!

He didn't do chilli jam - apparently thought it wouldn't sell .... altho I have to disagree as every chilli festival we've been to has been heaving with people!

We now have an array of chillis in the freezer and hanging on strings drying out to use over the winter though!

    How's things?

Although I do not consider myself as "in with the Deva crew", I have to say it comes across that Cheryl does some lovely thoughtful things for her friends on here, both virtual and now real through the meets she herself has organised. However, today proves to me how good, kind and thoughtful deeds are repaid - be proud of yourself Cheryl and good on you Chris for taking the time to chat.

We all know he reads the blogger/ettes comments and judging by the reaction this week he appears to have enjoyed meeting those who contribute that have introduced themselves and received hugs on his way round the country. I think it has been mentioned that he is proud of the blog and the way it has evolved.

Who could ever pretend to know what really goes through Chris's mind but he comes across as someone that takes the good out of life and runs with it so I personally believe that this week was not merely an act he put on to make people think he appreciated them.

So, for those cynics, I feel sad that you cannot see beyond the money side of things and maybe Chris is actually enjoying getting out and meeting the public generally - not just those from the blog.

For the individuals that find it hard to write positive comments then why bother even writing anything at all, I have to ask? If your negativity comes about through jealousy then just switch off from this site. If it is to grab everyone's attention then maybe try making more appropriate comments - positive attention is so much more rewarding than negative attention.

I understand that two wrongs do not make a right and there has been a lot of water passed under the bridge between some contributors on this blog but life is way too short to spend even 10 minutes a day pulling other people down because their outlook on life or the way they chose to use this blog is different to your own.

I apologise if my witterings offend anyone, it just upsets me to see stormy undercurrents bubbling away underneath the surface of what should be a happy place to come and spend a while.
