ChartBlog Goes To Switch Live Part 3

Post categories:

Fraser McAlpine | 17:58 UK time, Sunday, 12 October 2008

Here's the final installment of the ChartBlog gossip snufflefest, and there have been some major developments since last we spoke. For example, McFly fans, I have lived one of your greatest wishes and lived to tell the tale.

But before we get into that, here's some of the other stuff which has happened today...

Dappy from N-Dubz couldn't resist going in to the auditorium to catch a bit of Basshunter and have a bit of a dance. Trouble is, even without his tradmark frayed-sock hat, he's quite recognisable, and it wasn't long before people were going over to hug him. Before long a small crowd had formed, and then a larger crowd... With a cry of "Get him outta there!" a large bouncer had to wade in and rescue Dappy from death by fan smotheration. What a way to go though!

Miley Cyrus was on her way out of the venue in a people carrier, but was stopped by a small army of fans. Displaying impeccable manners, she stopped the car and got out to sign autographs and press the flesh.

George Sampson offered to do a special move for Â鶹Éç Switch, namely a backflip up a brick wall. This was considered by his 'people' to be an extraordinarily bad idea, even though he claimed to have done it before. There's never a crash helmet around when you need one, is there?

Ne-Yo, a man who knows a fine laydee when he sees one, walked past Ais from Â鶹Éç Switch, tweaked her chin with his finger and thumb, and made a little squeaky noise as he did it. Her (blushing) verdict? "In crazytown, that means we're married!"

Speaking of unasked for invasion of bodily space, George Sampson, in the middle of an interview, rushed over to Kelly Osbourne and stole a kiss. She was a little freaked out, but made him come back and kiss her cheek properly. Quite right too.

Speaking of Kelly, she did not know how to pronounce 'Melton Mowbray', when called upon to do so for an interview question. That said, she does know how to pronounce a lot of other words, so let's not be harsh, mm?

The most suddenly-deafening scream moment of the day came when Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy threw himself into the crowd at the end of 'Sugar We're Goin' Down'. He came back out minus one shoe and his ear-piece. Check eBay for details, people!

Tulisa from N-Dubz has hit upon a genius way of getting people interesting in the band's debut album: Be almost TOO honest about it.

She told Switch: "If you're not an N-Dubz fan, there will be something on there you will like. And if you ARE an N-Dubz fan, there will be something on there that you don't like."

And if you are indifferent to N-Dubz, there will be something on there that you don't mind. You lucky people!

Greg James overheard a fairly large argument between one of Ne-Yo's entourage and the catering staff over a piece of salmon. He claimed he did not want that piece, and would prefer a different one, they did not wish to honour his request. There must be a film script in this, surely?

Fearne Cotton has eaten a lot of biscuits. Her words, not mine.

Speaking of Fearne, I was happily sitting on the floor, not long ago, with my laptop on the top of my lap, writing Twitters (Twitterses?) for the Switch Live Twitter feed. Fearne was nearby, talking to Reggie back in the Radio 1 studios. Suddenly she noticed McFly walking past, so she called them over for a chat. Sadly, there wasn't quite enough room for all of them to crowd around her without them standing on me, so I moved, and suddenly noticed that I was sitting on the floor, with Harry's bum about six inches away from my face.

Some of you might need a couple of minutes to absorb that thought.

*drums fingers on desk*

Ready to go again? Alright!

Patrick Stump has been filmed doing ironic situps as part of a mock-pre-stage routine. Whether this results in an ironic six-pack remains to be seen.

Fearne Cotton says that every time she has said the words 'George' and 'Sampson' together on stage, she's been deafened by screams. Imagine the carnage when he starts to sing!

And that's it. We've got a great big mess to clear up and some of us have permanent hearing damage, but it has been entirely worthwhile. See you next time, with earplugs!

Now go and see all the amazing stuff at the Switch Live site...

Or go back to Part 1 and start again...
