IIFA magic and Raajneeti thrills

Raj&Pablo | 13:27 UK time, Sunday, 6 June 2010

It's been a big bollytastic Weekend - the big release has been the eagerly anticipated multi-starrer political thriller Raajneeti.Ìý Our Love Bollywood Reviewers gave it a Big Thumbs Up - and we caught up with director Prakash Jha last week.

He was quietly confident about RaajneetiÌý - he's totally impressed by Katrina Kaif's work ethic and dedication - she took intense Hindi diction lessons and re-dubbed her dialogues all at her own insistence. He also clarified some rumours for us - yes, there was a creative row with Nana Patekar; Ajay Devgan is not miffed at the publicity and a steamy sex scene with hunky Arjun Rampal was shortened as it was deemed too hot! We were expecting wonders from this movie - and it delivered another milestone for Ranbir Kapoor.Ìý Hear him in full on our podcast!

The IIFA Weekend in Colombo was a big success - the big winners were

Best Film Vidhu Vinod Chopra - 3 Idiots

Best Performance in a Leading Role (Male) Amitabh Bachchan - Paa

Best Performance in a Leading Role (Female) Kareena Kapoor - 3 Idiots & Vidya Balan - Paa

Best Direction Raj Kumar Hirani - 3 Idiots

AND a Life Time Achievement Award for one our legends Zeenat Aman.

Zeenat Aman was her usual self deprecating self declaring her success has been due to the excellence of the great directors from Bollywood she was lucky enough to work with
.
On Sunday's show we heard from nearly everyone at the awards in Sri Lanka - Raj Kumar Hirani; Kareena Kapoor; Lara Dutta, Zeenat Aman, Manish Malhotra , Vivek, Bipasha Basu , Salman Khan to name a few.Ìý Do listen again!!!

WE are looking forward to a BIG Tommy Time Breakfast this week........

Join us next weekend for some more music and mayhem from the world of Bollywood when we will be chatting to hunky Kunal Kapoor and looking at the music of the Imran Khan - Sonam Kapoor starrer - I HATE LUV STORIES.

Till then,
Love Us, Love Bollywood
