In 1966, 23 year old David Warner was believed to be the youngest actor to have played Hamlet on the professional stage. In this interview, he explains his take on the part and how he overcomes some of the difficulties present in the text. David Warner continued his relationship with Shakespeare both on stage and, in various 麻豆社 productions, on television. He is now, perhaps, best known for a number of key roles in horror and fantasy films, such as doomed photographer Jennings in 'The Omen' (1976) and the evil genius in Terry Gilliam's 'Time Bandits' (1981).

Originally broadcast on World Service on 9 January 1966.
