A slightly reticent Agatha Christie chats to reporter Aidan MacDermot at celebrations for the anniversary of the Mousetrap. Actors Richard Attenborough, who was the detective in the original West End cast, and Mysie Monte, who has been playing the part of the "horrible" Mrs Boyle since 1955, also give their views on the play's continuing appeal.
Mysie Monte continued to play the role of Mrs Boyle for five more years after this interview was aired, finally leaving the show in November 1967.
Richard Attenborough is pictured in 1956 with his Welsh corgi Trotter.
