You might be interested to know that Â鶹Éç Scotland’s political editor, Brian Taylor, is now writing his own blog. In the run-up to the Holyrood and local elections on Thursday 3rd May Brian will reveal his thoughts and observations on the parties’ battle for our votes. And, of course, you can add your own comments on proceedings too!

To answer tws’ question, yes we are open for business over the public holidays! (There’ll be no moderation over the weekend as per usual, of course.)
Hope you have an enjoyable Easter and that it’s nice and restful after last weekend’s exertions at the Fank!
Don’t forget to let us know what you’re doing over the weekend and if you’re out and about remember to take your camera and let us all see what’s happening in your corner of the world.

Today Scallowawife added her voice to the growing number of bloggers who would like to see the return of :
“come on capricorn - you have to blog to get back to the top again - we have shown you are wanted - another blog please!“
If you’re reading this, capricornsmallcat, please do think about another post! It was a short but sweet first entry back in February and we’d love to hear from you again…

It’s oh so quiet

I’m perplexed. The Argyll and Clyde islands have gone fairly quiet and I don’t know why.
Since the beginning of March we’ve had contributions from 9 bloggers (10 if you include angel garden who, it unfortunately turned out, wasn’t based on Fladda at all. But we’d still like to hear from you via the comments angel garden, so please get back in touch!)
If you know any lapsed bloggers from the Argyll & Clyde area give them a gentle shove and remind them that we’d like to hear what they’ve been up to. If you live in the area yourself but don’t have a blog yet, to see how you can contribute.
It would be particularly good to get some new bloggers from
Colonsay
Easdale
Fladda
Gigha
Great Cumbrae
Iona
Lismore
Lunga
Seil
But if you’re on one of the other islands it would be great to have you on board too.
Don’t forget we have lovely Island Blogging promotional posters and postcards which are free to a good home. So if you can think of a suitable place for them in your community email me at islandblogging@bbc.co.uk and I’ll send them out to you.

Have you come across Radio Five Live’s programme Pods & Blogs? It’s an hourly show “dedicated to covering the news as it's seen by bloggers, podcasters and the citizen media”.
It’s broadcast in the early hours of Tuesday mornings but if you’re not up at 2 am to hear it (!) you can catch it via Listen Again.
Click on for more about the show.

Blogging at election time

Just a reminder that as there’s an election pending we can’t publish any posts or comments which might seem to favour one particular party, or which could be deemed to be encouraging or discouraging voters towards a party/candidate.
Of course, come the 4th of May, you can let us all know your thoughts on the results! ;-)

Who's reading your blog?

There’s an interesting entry on Pods & Blogs which ties in with my recent post. It seems that some people are forgetting that when something of theirs is published online they can’t control the way it’s consumed or who’s consuming it. I guess it's easy to forget that we're not just publishing to the UK and our pals such as mjc, Carol and Dag. It's a big world wide web out there...
Enjoy your weekend
Anne :)

There seems to have been a problem with comments being published to the site yesterday. If you submitted comments but have not seen them on the site yet please email me at islandblogging@bbc.co.uk.
Thanks
Anne
