A favourite song:

Listen to Laner Velibesamim (My Soul Yearns For You Like Fire and Spice) performed by the Danny Shine band with Danny on keyboards and vocals, Robin Bibi - guitar, David Bitelli - sax, Motti Cohen - drums, John Deemer - Bass and Dominic Glover - Trumpet.

In Laner Velibesamim, the singer sings that his love is fierce like the fire and sweet like the spices that we use in our ceremony to see out the Sabbath. He sings, 'Just like that wonderful moment that we wait for, so my heart and soul yearns for you my love.' It's quite a well known sephardi love song. Sometimes the bride will come over to the men's side and the bride and the groom will do a little bit of dancing together. A couple can choose which tune will be their signal to do this, and at the Heathrow wedding, they decided that Laner Velibesamim was their signal.

The bride and groom were in chairs on the shoulders of the men and women respectively, on each side of the hedge on the dance floor. The bride got carried by the women around the hedge to the men's section of the dancefloor. There they held hands as they were danced on their chairs by the crowd.
