Dannii Minogue
The pop princess is back to find a new star sensation
Dannii has a keen eye for talent, having appeared as a judge on a whopping SIX series of Australia Got Talent, four series of The X Factor UK, and three series of The X Factor in her home country. But she can’t wait to cast that eye across our Let It Shine wannabes and get immersed in the British music scene again.
What I love about this show is that everyone鈥檚 coming in with different talentsDannii
The singer, actress and television personality first appeared on British screens in 1989, playing the part of Emma Jackson in the Australian soap Home and Away. One year later, she released her debut album ‘Dannii,’ and has gone on to achieve a grand total of eight Top 10 singles.
Dannii’s first foray into musical theatre was the box office-breaking Grease: The Arena Spectacular in Australia. She played the part of Rizzo, and following a hugely successful run on her home turf, the show transferred to New Zealand, where its success went from strength to strength. Dannii’s also appeared in our own West End, starring in Notre-Dame de Paris at London’s Dominion Theatre, an audition she describes as both memorable and scary. “It’s a 2000-seat theatre, and I was just on the stage on my own in front of the producers – but you’ve got to block all of that out, you’ve got to get over it, just be in your own bubble and bring people towards you.” Let’s hope our Let It Shine hopefuls can do likewise!
So what’s Dannii looking for on the show, and will she be able to find it? “What I love about this show is that everyone’s coming in with different talents: singing, dancing, it’s all about how to put them all together and round it out so that each one is a star.” That winning combination’s out there, and it’s up to Ms Minogue to find it!
