Who cloths Africa?

Nigeria’s textile industry used to generate over $2billion annually in the 80s. Since then, there has been a 75% decline in textile production.

These woes have been attributed to the influx of cheap Chinese textiles, high production costs, and dominance by external players.

One of the biggest manufacturers of African print fabrics is Vlisco, a Dutch company that has been around for nearly two centuries.

The Kente cloth industry has projected Ghana on the global map, both socially and economically.
