Can Africa feed itself?
If one farmer loses that amount of food, how much is lost at a national level and at a continental level? Only a minority of farmer’s reports a loss, making it hard for experts to collect reliable data on how much is lost. FAO estimates suggest that as much as 37 percent of food produced in Sub-Saharan Africa is lost between production and consumption.
