The aftermath of Aberfan
Joe Jones describes his involvement in the rescue effort after the Aberfan disaster, where on October 21st 1966 the collapse of a spoil tip caused huge amounts of debris to suddenly slide downhill engulfing Pantglas Junior School where 144 lives were sadly claimed.
Joe describes the scene to Jeremy as we mark 50 years since the tragic event took place.
