Bafta Awards, Mental Health & Learning New Languages

Rupal Rajani sits in alongside Jim to start your day with the latest news and updates.

The Bafta Awards took place on Valentines Day evening, and it turned out to be The Revenant's night.

The wilderness epic took home three of the biggest awards on offer - Best Director, Best Leading Actor and Best film. At the glitzy ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London, host Stephen Fry invited an array of stars onto the stage to pick up the golden mask trophies - many will be hoping to add a little gold man to their collection at the Oscars later this month.

All week on 麻豆社 Radio Leicester we're looking at mental health as part of our 'In the Mind' season.

Today the NHS is announcing a Mental Health Task Force - the biggest ever study of mental health services in the UK, with a five year national strategy to improve services. But what does the current picture of provision look like? Well a Leicestershire counsellor working with children and teenagers says she's being inundated with young people needing help but there's just not enough out there. Jane Wildbore is a counsellor and psychotherapist in Leicestershire and has worked with schools in the city to support pupils, as well as a number of charities and organisations - and she joined Jim and Rupal on the programme.

And apparently, you can learn a language in a week!

That's if you set aside five (yes, five) hours a day of intense study a day to a chosen language. Well, Rupal has set Jim the challenge of brushing up on his Spanish skills... muy bien!
