Labour MP Stephen Kinnock, whose constituency includes the steel plant in Port Talbot, told the Daily Politics a crisis in the industry had been 鈥渂rewing鈥 for some time.
He accused the government of being 鈥渁sleep at the wheel鈥 over the issues of Chinese dumping of cheap steel and 鈥渃rippling鈥 energy costs. Mr Kinnock said the impact of the job losses on the local area would be huge, describing the plant as 鈥渢he beating heart of our community and our economy鈥.
