Age UK: Adult social care 'in rapid decline'

Adult social care in England is in "quite rapid decline" and spending has fallen by 14% since 2010, according to Age UK.

5 live spoke to older people at RHEA - Richmond Hill Elderly Action, an independent charity which helps pensioners in Leeds.

Angela, who had a stroke five years ago, said: "Five years ago I got a lot of help but now they don't do much because they can't afford it, I had physiotherapy, someone to walk me in the streets but there's no one to help me now."

The Department of Health said: "We've given an extra £1.1 billion to councils to help protect social care services this year on top of additional funding in recent years but ultimately they are responsible for deciding how to spend their budgets."
