The arduous journey west and the search for water
Modern re-enactors follow in the footsteps of the original pioneers and explain the hardships of the trail. The need for water was constant, and as the landscape became increasingly dry, this need became more urgent and more difficult to meet. Animals and equipment both suffered in these conditions.
