Mount Emei, its macaque monkeys and wildlife film-maker Hao Jian
Emei is a sacred mountain in West Sichuan and it's also home to the Tibetan macaque, a rare species in China. It is a place with which cameraman Hao Jian is very familiar. Inspired by growing concerns in China about animal and environmental protection, he has been making films about a tribe of macaques and has won a string of awards. While filming with the help of a zoologist he has observed that these monkeys have a social structure and share emotions similar to humans.
