Jim McDowell discusses the carve-up of Ulster as part of the Plantation - and highlights the fact that the native Irish were allocated a quarter of the land.

This was an actual improvement to the native situation, since in the past only the Irish Chieftains had supremacy over the land.

Jim reveals that very few Irish people were driven from their land by settlers, and that it was mostly the unoccupied lands which were colonised by the settlers.
