Celebrating Robert Burns
Celebrating Robert Burns with chat of food, whiskey and – of course – poetry.
Helen Mark presents Â鶹Éç Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show alongside Rab Lennox, Rachel Hutchinson and Willie Hill.
It’s no exaggeration to say Robert Burns’ work is woven in the very essence of what it means to be Ulster-Scots. So it’s only right we dedicate most of the show to Scotland’s National Bard ahead of Burns night!
Helen has been hearing about the ‘Ode to Burns Weekend’ upcoming at the Ulster American Folk Park while Willie has a dram at ‘The Friend at Hand’ whiskey museum in Belfast. Finally, to talk poetry, Rachel catches up with Kilkeel native Wendy Hanna.
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
