Bath Mozartfest 2022: Mendelssohn and Schubert

The Pavel Haas Quartet play Schubert's epic late String Quartet No 15 in the elegant splendour of the Assembly Rooms at Bath Mozartfest 2022.

In our final set of highlights from Bath Mozartfest 2022, music by Mendelssohn and Schubert. Recorded in the elegant surroundings of the Assembly Rooms, members of the Nash Ensemble, cellist Adrian Brendel and pianist Alasdair Beatson play one of Mendelssohn's lyrical songs without words, and the Pavel Haas Quartet perform one of Schubert's most ambitious quartets, a tour de force in string quartet writing which he finished only a couple of years before his death at the age of just 31.
