A 999 call for a patient driving the wrong way up a slip road kicks off another busy shift for the team covering the 2,300 square miles of Teesside.
In the control centre, an emergency call is received concerning a man driving the wrong way up a slip road on the A19. Crewmates Ollie and James are immediately dispatched alongside the police to treat the patient. They believe he is in the midst of a serious mental health crisis.
In Teesside, crewmates and best friends Lois and Sammie respond to a call about a woman with pains in her side. On scene, while the patient discloses that she has been struggling with her mental health following a sexual assault, the crew have concerns that she could be experiencing an ectopic pregnancy.
In Middlesbrough, crewmates Paul and Abid are dispatched to a 64-year-old woman who has fallen while walking her dog and has a suspected broken hip. Despite her pain, she still manages to entertain the crew in the back of the ambulance. Lois and Sammie are dispatched to a 78-year-old man in Billingham who is experiencing chest pains. The patient becomes emotional as he talks about his wife of 50 years, who he has sadly lost to cancer.
